A house on Syndicate Avenue North was damaged in an early morning fire.
Fire Rescue was sent to the home just before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
When they arrived they found smoke coming from the main floor and flames from a bedroom window at the back of the building.
Firefighters attacked the flames from outside and inside the building.
The fire was put out, and the damage was limited to a bedroom, bathroom, hallway, and some attic space.
The entire home was extensively damaged by smoke as well.
The home’s residents were not home at the time of the fire.
Fire Rescue is reminding residents that working smoke detectors and a regular fire escape plan are key to ensuring your family’s safety in the event of a fire at your home.
