Police have arrested a male suspect following an alleged incident on Saturday where three people were attacked with bear spray.
Officers from the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, stationed at the Mishkeegogamang First Nation, responded to a call about the assault on October 5.
Upon arriving at a residence on James Road, they found that the suspect had forcibly entered the home and sprayed the victims.
The suspect was identified and located walking on James Road, where officers, with assistance from the OPP’s Pickle Lake detachment, carried out a high-risk arrest, taking him into custody without any problems.
A 33-year-old man from Mishkeegogamang First Nation faces several charges, including:
- Assault with a Weapon (three counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Break and Enter into a Dwelling
He attended a bail hearing on Saturday and has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
