Ontarians can now receive their latest flu and Covid-19 vaccinations.
The province has opened up access to the free vaccine, which is available at pharmacies, primary healthcare providers and public health units.
Everyone is encouraged to get up to date in protection, as Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore expects the co-circulation of influenza, Covid and RSV over the fall and winter.
“Especially those who are elderly, immunocompromised, or have medical conditions that make you particularly susceptible to harm from respiratory illnesses.”
Approved earlier in the Fall by Health Canada this latest Covid-19 vaccine is designed to target the XBB variant.
Appointments can be made by contacting the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900 (TTY: 1-866-797-0007 toll free) from Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
To reduce the risk of spreading illness, it is advised to wash your hands often, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, clean surfaces and shared items regularly and stay at home when sick.
