A 17 year old faces a number of charges following a Thursday evening assault on a security guard and two police officers.
Officers were called to a hotel on Valhalla Inn Road shortly before 10:00 p.m., to reports of an individual damaging property and attacking people.
Upon arrival they learned the teenager, from Eabametoong had forcibly entered another person’s cab.
She was removed from the vehicle but refused to move away.
A security guard at the hotel intervened but was assaulted after the accused became irate.
As the officers attempted to complete the arrest the teenager attacked one of the officers.
Once in custody she attacked the second officer.
She’s been charged with:
• Assault
• Assault a Peace Officer x 3
• Assault with a Weapon
She appeared in court Friday.
Her identity is being withheld due to provisions within the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
