Thunder Bay police have one person in custody following a shooting earlier this afternoon on the city’s southside.
Police were called to the area of Amelia Street West near Spence Court shortly before 1:00p.m. to reports of multiple gunshots.
A release states multiple parties were involved in an altercation involving a firearm.
Officers from multiple units of the Thunder Bay Police were dispatched along with support from the Ontario Provincial Police to respond to the shooting.
The Major Crimes Unit is now investigating and the incident is believed to be a targeted shooting.
The person in custody has only been identified as a male by police at this time, and will make a bail court appearance Wednesday.
