A welfare check at a Cumming Street residence Friday has led to drug trafficking charges against two Southern Ontario men.
Police were called to the home just after 9:15 p.m. and learned a home takeover could be in progress.
Upon arrival officers observed two men attempting to flee out a top floor window.
One jumped and was taken into custody while the other remained on the roof before retreating back inside, where he was subsequently placed in handcuffs.
A quantity of suspected cocaine was seized along with cash and drug trafficking equipment.
A 24 year old Toronto man has been charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Failure to Comply with Release Order
• Obstruct Peace Officer
Meanwhile a 20 year old Brampton man faces the charges of:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Both appeared in court over the weekend and have been remanded into custody.
