George Bordun always played the lottery and when he doubted the purchase of a $10 ticket, his gut instinct made him change his mind.
“Then I figured, you only live once. And this ticket went on to win the top prize.”
The ticket was for The Bigger Spin INSTANT game and when he arrived at OLG’s Prize Centre in Toronto to spin the wheel, Bordun gave it all he had, hoping to land a win with $550,000 or $650,000 but that just wasn’t going to happen for him.
“I felt frozen as I watched the wheel spin and was tingling when I saw it land on $800,000. It must have been my wallet excited for the money,” he laughed.
The great-grandfather is planning on completing some home renovations, sharing his win with family, and friends who he’s chosen as family, and supporting his Ukrainian heritage.
“I would like to support the Ukrainians who have been deployed by the war. I will take some time to figure out the best way to do that,” he said.
