Officials with Gateway Casinos say sites across Ontario, including Thunder Bay, will remain closed for the coming days following a weekend malfunction that has now been identified as a cyberattack.
In a release issued Monday evening the company states its utmost concern is protecting private data and information which, at this time, there is no indication any data has been compromised.
It is also in the process of notifying the relevant privacy officials and gaming regulator of the incident.
A third-party firm which specializes in cyber issues has been brought in to address the situation, and assist the company in restoring its I-T systems.
No exact timeline has been given for a restart of operations.
