Paramedics responding to a call on a city bus in the Northwood area Saturday were assaulted by the very man they were called to assist.
The incident occurred before 5:30 p.m. Sunday when paramedics were attending to an unconscious male on the bus who then became combative when they tried to wake him.
An off-duty officer with the TBPS, who was in the area, stopped to assist and was also attacked by the accused.
The accused was finally brought into custody following the arrival of an on-duty police officer.
The accused, a 55 year old man from Neskantaga First Nation, faces the following charges:
• Assault
• Assault a Peace Officer
• Resist Peace Officer
He appeared in court on Sunday and has since been remanded into custody.
