Dryden families are invited to a massive community get-together on February 17th and 18th as the Dryden Drag Race Association hosts their Snow Drag event.
Organizer Daniel Crossley explains admission is free for all spectators for the two-day event on Olson’s Landing Road, which includes a kick-off party Friday night and a number of snowmobile races in multiple different classes throughout the day on Saturday.
“Friday, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., we’ll have free pizza handed out and we’ll have a sliding party for the kids at the racetracks. At 7 p.m., Soulless Tattoo and Vape Shop will be doing a massive fireworks show for everyone.”
Events will be held at the Dryden Flying Club on Olson’s Landing Road, and food will be available on-site.
Crossley says race classes include 500 cc to 1000 cc for stock and improved sleds, a class for modified and turbo sleds, one for professional modifications and outlawed sleds – as well as a King and Queen open class.
Registration for the races will take place between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on the 18th, and kids can race for free. Cash and donated prizes will be available for first and second-place finishers, with some funds going back to the association to help host future events.
“We just want to get everyone together. There will be something for everybody!”
The DDRA adds entry fees range between $40 and $100, depending on class. As well, Best Western has a block of rooms available with a discount, and Sherwin Photography will be at the event taking pictures.
