Several members of City Council are in Toronto this week for the 2023 Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference.
Mayor Ken Boshcoff says the Thunder Bay delegation has several meetings lined up with ministers within the Ford Government. He notes there seems to be some cohesion between municipalities on certain issues.
“Everybody thinks these are all things that are happening only in Thunder Bay, but those issues of crime and homelessness are really front of mind.”
Additionally Boshcoff is serving in two capacities at the conference, as the Chair of the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board, which will give him another day to meet with some of the same ministers.
Which he is hopeful will open up more opportunities to reaffirm certain concerns.
