The City of Thunder Bay is looking for artists to participate in the Snow Sculpture Competition as part of its 2023 SnowDay on the Waterfront, slated to take place on Family Day next February.
The theme for this year is “Local Landmarks & Landscapes”, artist can submit their concepts ranging from iconic architecture to natural formations that are reflective of the community, fun focused and family friendly.
The competition is open to professional artists, professional artist-led teams, organizations and community groups.
There are two separate application processes for submissions-one for professional artists and professional artist-led teams, and another for submissions by community groups and organizations. The deadline for submissions is January 11th, 2023@ 11:59 p.m.
Additionally Members of the public will be able to vote for their favourite sculpture.
Other activities planned for the day include a mixture of indoor and outdoor programming, an opportunity to try different outdoor activities and, as previously mentioned, see the snow sculptures.
