A professor with Lakehead University will carry the NDP flag into the Ontario election.
Lise Vaugeois, who is also a small business owner, was chosen Thursday as the candidate in Thunder Bay-Superior North.
“I love my community, and I know we can do more to make life in the Northwest even better,” said Vaugeois. “During this pandemic, we saw how the Ford government abandoned us when we most needed help. We saw him shortchange us on everything from the number of teachers to the number of rapid (antigen) tests we get.”
Vaugeois added that Liberal leader Stephen Del Duca is not the answer.
“We had fifteen years with the Wynne government, and (Del Duca) didn’t help us when he had the chance,” noted Vaugeois. “Our hospitals were left crowded, home care unable to get to our loved ones in need, and the North didn’t get the investments we deserve.”
Current Thunder Bay At Large councillor Peng You has declared his intention to run for the Ontario PC Party while incumbent Michael Gravelle (Liberal) will run once more for the seat at Queen’s Park.
The election is set for on or before Thursday, June 2nd.
