The province and the OEB are talking about an “ultra low” overnight energy price plan.
Energy Minister, Todd Smith, has been in talks with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) on the possibility of creating a new ultra-low overnight Time Of Use price plan as this could benefit all Ontarians, but especially shift workers and consumers that use more energy overnight versus the day.
A public consultation has been launched on the subject.
Residents were paying the off peak rate of 8.2cents/per kilowatt-hour for most of the pandemic. The latest relief ended earlier this week.
