An early morning fire at an apartment along Dawson Street.
At 4:30am on Monday November 22nd, The Dawson Apartments had six pumpers arrive and an aerial ladder to battle an active fire after getting a 911 call.
Crews battled heavy smoke and flames coming from the window of a ground floor apartment unit. With smoke filling the hallways of the ground floor it was reaching to the floors above the fire. Fire fighters ventilated extensively to clear heavy smoke and deadly carbon monoxide from the ground floor and the two floors above the fire.
Three adults and one pet dog were evacuated from the fiery unit, and later transported to the hospital for further care. No other details were provided at this time.
Fire damage was contained to the one apartment unit and damage from the blaze and water is considered extensive.
