Making space in the north downtown core.
The city of Thunder Bay will be removing the big granite blocks from the northern downtown core in preparation for the winter months.
The city is continuing with the Reimagining the North Core Streetscapes Project and a new Winter Streetscape pilot project will be installed. This will include a protected area for the city to use at the northwest corner of Cumberland Street and Red River Road.
Cumberland Street will also get two way traffic back next week, with the angle parking staying.
You can see all the upcoming features on the city’s website here.
