It may have been a chilly ride for students at CD Howe Public School, but it was all for promoting better mental and physical health.
The school teamed up with Eco Superior for some bike safety tips and tricks and the over 40 students took a rolling field trip to McVicar’s Creek Thursday morning.
The WOW Tbay Program is a part of a province wide initiative to encourage families to choose active transportation for the commute to and from school.
Students can walk or use any non-motorized mode of transportation; cycling, using a wheelchair, scooter, or skateboard.
Students learned about walking their bikes across the road, proper hand signals and bike road safety.
Bikes were treated to a tune-up after the big ride.
