The Silver Islet General Store is getting a cash infusion.
The General Store and Tea Room at the foot of the Sleeping Giant picked up $48,000.
“We have been able to install solar power, which helps keep this beautiful area green, and allows us to continue our work in contributing to the vibrant and growing tourism sector in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario,” notes co-owner Sandy Korkola.
The funds come from The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission and Tourism Thunder Bay.
The store gets approximately 75,000 visitors each year from local tourism as well as American and International travelers.
