With the rise of COVID-19 Cases in the area and, really, all across Canada, we are hearing a lot about zone colours. I was wondering today what the colours mean because telling me we’re going to a ‘yellow zone’ from a green zone doesn’t mean a whole lot to me. Other than we’re going into a higher level of caution. So I looked it up! You can find the full details here but in the meantime, the graphic below shows the different levels. We are, as of this writing, sitting in a green zone in Thunder Bay but with the new cases headed towards a yellow zone next week which means more targeted enforcement and education. Doesn’t seem like a big deal until we get towards red and grey. Let’s hope we don’t get there! The best way to prevent further measures is to make sure we’re keeping ourselves safe and distant from each other. Wear a mask, wash your hands and stay home if you don’t need to go out. As tough as it seems right now, there IS a light at the end of the tunnel, but we need to stay vigilant until vaccines are approved and distributed. That’s going to take a while, but we’ll get there, together!
