Power has been restored to many customers after heavy rain and winds caused pockets of outages on Election night in the Thunder Bay area.
The rain is expected to continue into this morning.
At the moment, Synergy North reports the power has been restored to most customers in Thunder Bay.
Fallen trees and branches on roads have also been reported to our station in the Lyon Boulevard area, and Red River Road near Waverley Street.
On the outskirts of the city, Hydro One reports there are more than 800 people without power in the Lappe and McIntyre areas, and the utility says it will take until around noon to fix the outages.
Around 1,100 homes and businesses are without power in Kaministiquia because of equipment repairs. Hydro One says it’s not known when they will restore power to those customers.
Another outage in the Kakabeka area is still affecting over 350 customers.
There are another couple of pockets of outages in the Twin City Crossroads, Neebing, and Nolalu areas, affecting fewer than 80 customers. Those are also expected to be resolved around noon.
Meantime there are also areas where flash flooding has taken place because of the heavy downpour, especially next to the Intercity Shopping Centre on Isabel Street.
