Students at Hammarskjold High School are as upset as their teachers and parents over the constant interruptions caused by the eight recent threats to their school.
Grade 12 studentĀ Katelyn Luoma tells us her whole family is “very pro-Hamm” since her younger brother goes there and her older sister went too.
She says “Hammarskjold is such a good school and it’s saddening that it’s happening to us.”
Emma Desjardins is in Grade 11 and says “it’s very emotionally draining for everyone” since all they want to do is finish their year.
“Beyond frustrated” is how Maria Saburov puts it.
The grade 12 student notes teachers are now giving out assignments ahead of time, just in case there are more school closures.
All police have said so far, is the threats have involved both shootings and possible explosives.
There are two rewards out for information on who may be responsible.
The Lakehead Public School Board is offering a reward of $5,000, while Crime Stoppers is kicking in $1,000.
A police tip line also remains open at 684-5001.
