Organizers of a program that operates out of the George Jeffrey Children’s Centre want to make the city more welcoming to those who have communication issues.
Robin Gardiner, an expert on speech problems, says they’re trying to promote a logo which signals that local agencies are equipped to serve those who find it hard to communicate normally.
She says a lot of independent adults in the community are having trouble getting served when they have a communications disability.
Gardiner made a presentation to the Police Service’s Board this morning.
