A special ceremony Friday marked the graduation of 10 new firefighter recruits for Thunder Bay Fire Rescue.
The ceremony culminated 14 weeks of more than 500 training hours
Recruits received training in various fields in addition to firefighting including water rescue, rope rescue, aerial ladder, HAZMAT, wildland firefighting, auto extrication, medical “First Responder” and Resilient Minds training.
“We recognize the hard work and dedication these individuals have put in to reach this point,” said Greg Hankkio, Chief, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue. “We congratulate them on their success and would like to thank them and their families for their commitment in ensuring the safety of the citizens of Thunder Bay, today and for years to come.”
