A 31 year old Toronto man remains in custody after causing a plane to be diverted to Thunder Bay.
The incident happened around 4:00 Tuesday afternoon when city police were dispatched to the Thunder Bay International Airport to attend a flight which had been diverted to land in the city due to an aggressive passenger.
An investigation revealed the suspect had become irate during the flight between Toronto and Calgary, after being denied a request to move seats.
In addition to becoming aggressive with staff he attempted to enter the cockpit of the aircraft.
A decision was then made to divert and land in Thunder Bay due to safety concerns.
The accused has been charged with:
• Causing a Disturbance
• Mischief Over $5,000
He has since appeared in bail court and was remanded into custody.
