One year and five months of waiting is finally over for motorists in Thunder Bay.
River Street has reopened to traffic.
Much of the work had been completed last week with a few finishing touches required, which culminated Monday with crews completing paving in the morning and by nightfall drivers were cruising over the fresh pavement, which still requires line painting.
The roadway was closed on May 5th 2022 following the formation of a sinkhole.
No final cost has been provided by the city just yet due to some extras over the course of the job, specifically quantities of asphalt and backfill.
