The Ontario Provincial Police says it will be on the lookout for the Labour Day long weekend for the “Big Four” infractions during an enforcement campaign.
They include speeding, seatbelts, impaired and distracted driving.
So far this year close to half of the 239 people killed on OPP patrolled roads were as a result of those four factors, with statistics showing between 2018 and 2022 there were almost 950 deaths total.
Patrols will be focused highways, trails and area waterways.
