Thunder Bay Police have laid a charge of attempted murder in an ongoing investigation into an assault that occurred earlier this month.
A man was found with serious injuries in a hotel room on Dawson Road.
Police say an edged weapon was used and the assault was unprovoked.
A 37-year -old Thunder Bay man was initially charged with several offences, including aggravated assault.
He now faces a charge of attempted murder and remains in custody.
