A Kingston man has been arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police in the Greenstone area on weapons charges.
Police were notified around 8 o’clock Friday morning the individual was travelling along highway 11 possibly in possession of a firearm.
Patrols later stopped a motor vehicle, and officers discovered the 42 year old was in possession of a handgun and pistol calibre carbine.
He’s been charged with:
· Transport Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Careless Manner
· Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
· Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
The accused appeared in court on Saturday.
