Get ready for fun in the city’s south side this weekend for the 41st annual Westfort Street Fair.
Businesses from the area and beyond will take over 500 metres of Frederica Street, starting at Brown Street and running east.
Aaron Gillingham is the President of the Westfort Village Association and calls the event a point of pride for the neighbourhood.
“A lot of times the waterfront and downtown get a spotlight, and rightfully so because they are the entertainment district of Thunder Bay, but its cool to welcome residents from all over the city and region that maybe don’t make it down to Westfort all the time.”
The fair will feature free children’s games, vendors, musical acts and a hot pepper eating competition.
Gillingham says he expects anywhere from 7000 to 9000 people to be in attendance for the one day event, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. rain or shine.
