City police have arrested a 39 year old Thunder Bay man on multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of child exploitation material following an investigation which began in July.
Investigators became aware of, and later confirmed, an internet user who was in possession of digital files consistent with child exploitation on July 2nd of this year.
The investigation revealed an address in the downtown Port Arthur area connected to the downloading of those files.
A search warrant was executed at the address Thursday morning, in addition to the accused, several electronic devices were seized.
Charges include:
• Possession of Child Pornography
• Accessing Child Pornography
• Distribution of Child Pornography
The accused remains in custody following a bail appearance Friday.
