On July 21st the province is offering free day use access to parks across Ontario.
It’s to celebrate Health Parks, Healthy People Day.
Studies have shown spending time outdoors and in nature can improve mental, physical and social well-being, which in turn can lower blood pressure, increase self-esteem and reduce anxiety.
This is also in the lead up to next months 30 by 30 challenge to encourage people to spend 30 minutes in nature for 30 days during August, and in advance of Take a Hike Day on August 9th, which offers guided hikes at provincial parks.
