A program geared towards increasing the availability of charging stations for electric vehicles is being relaunched by the city’s Community Economic Development Commission.
Funding will be distributed by the CEDC and is provided through the federal Zero Emission Infrastructure Program.
The program was introduced two years ago and allowed 42 charging stations to be installed in Thunder Bay.
The relaunch will allow for companies, institutions and property owners to receive up to 50 percent of the cost towards purchasing and installing level 2 chargers or fast chargers.
Applications are open from now until September 1st, however the application portal may closer earlier than that date if all funds are committed before then.
