Today marks the the 127th Boston Marathon, and Northwestern Ontario is being represented.
The course runs just over 42 kilometres and will have runners seeking the best time as they make their way through the winding roads and hills which make up the greater Boston area.
Several residents from Dryden, Thunder Bay, Kenora and Red Lake will be among the nearly 30 thousand athletes participating.

On a sadder note, this year also marks the 10th anniversary of the 2013 bombing at the finish line, which killed three people and injured hundreds of others.
