Approximately 30 millimetres of mixed precipitation is possible over the weekend, with additional runoff expected from snow melt, as well above average snowpack remains on the ground especially in the rural areas.
Some areas are experiencing a rapid melt of the snow which, when combined with precipitation, is expected to cause moderate to rapid water level and flow increases to the drainage network.
There has also been some localized flooding on area roadways.
The City of Thunder Bay has issued an advisory for the Loch Lomond Road which has flooded in some sections.
Crews are working to pump excess water away from the area.
Residents are advised to pay attention to the forecast and be cautious around area waterways, and to keep children and pets away from all waterways.
The watch is expected to remain in effect through the weekend.
