A 42 year old city man has been remanded into custody following an aggravated assault at a north side home Monday evening.
Police and paramedics were dispatched to the Lillian Street home shortly before 7 p.m. to reports of an assault with a weapon.
Upon arrival officers located an adult male who had been stabbed, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers then learned another female victim and the accused male, who were known to each other, had become involved in an argument that physically escalated.
It was determined both the female victim and injured male victim had been assaulted by the accused during that confrontation.
The accused had fled the scene but was located less than an hour later nearby.
He attempted to provide officers with a false identity, however a further investigation revealed his true identity.
The accused faces several charges including:
• Assault with a Weapon
• Assault x 2
• Aggravated Assault
• Resist Peace Officer
• Obstruct Peace Officer
He appeared in court today and was remanded into custody.
