Thunder Bay Police have arrested a 48 year old city man on arson charges following a residential fire last month.
Fire crews were called to the house fire on Ambrose Street on the afternoon of January 15th, police were later dispatched due to the suspicious nature of the the fire.
Investigators were advised by firefighters that the fire had burned and consumed two large piles of garbage located just outside the door of the home, before it continued to burn the deck and wall around the entrance.
A male suspect was later identified and taken into custody on January 31st.
He’s been charged with:
• Arson – Disregard for Human Life
• Arson – Damage to Property
The accused appeared in court today and was remanded into custody.
