A joint operation led by the Ontario Provincial Police, in partnership with the Nishnawbe Aski Police and Anishinabek Police, has yielded charges against two men from the G-T-A and one from Quebec, stemming from an investigation which started last October.
On January 19th officers from all three police agencies with assistance from the Thunder Bay Police Service executed three search warrants within the city.
Approximately 3.7 kilograms of suspected cocaine, an undisclosed vehicle and approximately $50,000 in Canadian currency was seized.
Two 29 year old men from the GTA and a 32 year old man from Quebec all face the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Section 5(2) CDSA
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000 – Section 354 (1)(a) CC
All three have been remanded into custody.
