Ontario Provincial Police partnered up with the Ministry of Transportation in the Thunder Bay area Wednesday and Thursday for a traffic enforcement blitz that resulted more than 126 charges.
Those charges were issued for various issues including load security, improper braking systems, weight restrictions, trip inspection reports, speeding and dangerous goods violations.
Additionally 15 commercial motor vehicles were taken out of service for a number of safety related defects.
The blitz focused on a section of Highway 102 and the Dawson Road corridor in the City of Thunder Bay, which has become notorious in recent years, including a serious incident late last year.
It was also the site of an aerial enforcement blitz by Thunder Bay Police just before Christmas.
