Bissell is recalling one of their wet-dry vacuums.
After receiving at least six reports of a smoke smell, the manufacturer is asking that customers stop using the product and call them.
This recall involves the BISSELL® Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuum, identified by model number 2551 and UPC 011120247633.
“BISSELL” is printed on the foot of the product. The model number on the affected product is visible to the consumer when the clean water tank is removed.
The circuit board inside the vacuum’s battery pack can overheat and smoke, posing a fire hazard.
As of December 20, 2022, the company has received 6 reports of burning smell or smoke with no reports of injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 3 reports of the battery catching fire, and 1 report of injury. The company has also received 55 reports outside of Canada of burning smell or smoke.
