The parents of about 50 children in the city who attended the Sleeping Giant Child Care Centre will have to find alternate solutions after the centre announced its temporary closure Saturday.
The closure takes effect Monday and in a letter addressed to parents owner Andrea Mulligan says the centre will reopen immediately after it transitions to the non-profit model.
No timeline as to when that reopening will happen was included in the letter, however the centre “remains optimistic that it will be soon”.
Parents are being reassured as well that all childcare spots of children presently attending the centre will be held until the reopening.
Mulligan adds she will be at the centre from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. Monday to connect with anyone and to assist with the retrieval of any items left behind.
She is also encouraging parents who wish to speak in person or on the phone to contact her to arrange a time.
