More doctors are on their way to Northwestern Ontario.
The Province of Ontario announced more undergrad and postgrad positions over the next five years.
A total of six medical schools across Ontario will be benefitting from receiving more degree and resident positions within their programs.
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) will be receiving 30 undergraduate seats and 41 postgraduate positions.
NOSM has estimated that there is a doctor shortage of about 300 physicians, and that doesn’t take into account any that will be retiring in the next five years.
