Another gun is off the streets in Thunder Bay.
Police officers stopped a vehicle along May St South to check on the sobriety of the driver.
During the Saturday night stop, officers saw signs that the driver was impaired by marijuana. They also noted a passenger who looked to have a weapon.
When the passenger, a 19 year old Toronto man, was questioned he tried to run and got into a scuffle with officers.
During the distraction, the driver of the vehicle fled, while officers were able to arrest the passenger who had a loaded handgun on their person.
The driver, a 28 year old woman from Thunder Bay, was later arrested later that evening at a home on Windemere Ave.
Both suspects are facing a total of 19 charges and will be staying in police custody until a future court date.
