Iconic and often theatrical singer, Meat Loaf, has passed away.
Born Marvin Lee Aday in 1947 in Texas, he went on to win a Grammy Award in 1994 for “I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)” for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo.
The Bat Out of Hell trilogy sold more than 65 million albums across the world after the first installment debuted in 1977, with the others coming out 1993 and 2006 respectively.
After more than 40 years since it’s release, the first album “Bat Out Of Hell” still upwards of 200,000 copies a year. It’s known as one of the best selling albums in history.
The often theatrical singer also starred in many cult favourite movies including Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne’s World.
His family announced the singers death on his Facebook page.
Meat Loaf was 74.
