Reintegrating back into a community can be tough after having spent time in incarceration.
The province has hired 25 Community Reintegration Officers (CRO), with one of those positions posted in Thunder Bay.
Community Reintegration Officers will work closely with correctional staff to assist in planning supports for inmates who are going to be living back in the community.
CRO’s also work with the individual being released to connect with local agencies to gain support and having a structured release plan.
One new officer was hired and has been working in the Thunder Bay area since December 2021.
