The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood statement for the area.
Expect anywhere from 50 – 75mm of precipitation, and some localized areas could see up to 100mm.
Environment Canada is predicting rain for Thunder Bay and snow for parts outside of the city, other part of the region include Municipalities of Neebing, Oliver Paipoonge, Shunaih, and the Townships of O’Connor, Conmee, Gillies and Dorion.
Residents are reminded to drive with caution and to keep kids away from all moving waterways with the increased hazards of flooding and fast flowing rivers.
