The topic of security fencing once again discussed by the Thunder Bay Police Services Board.
Chief Sylvie Hauth said Tuesday that it would add extra security for staff, officers and civilians.
The main concern is that there is too much traffic coming into the parking lot off of Balmoral Street and parking spaces are being used up for other needs than staff or for the collision reporting centre.
The Chief also stated that this would be a good solution, albeit a band aid fix but the safety of officer and civilians is a the forefront of the discussion.
The board originally turned away from fencing around the station back in June, which was pegged at over $600,000.
The updated number for fencing, blockades and signage is closer to $100,000 which would be a temporary solution until the Police get a new facility.
Back on April 20 the board approved asking City Council for the build, which was pegged at roughly $55 million.
