It will not be long now before the new athletics centre at Lakehead University will be opened.
University Athletics Director Tom Warden tells us it will happen sometime in January, no exact date has been set
He believes “People will be pleasantly surprised when they walk in there and see the programming that going to exist in there and just the design and what it does for our community and university.”
The 30,000 square foot facility cost about $13 million and will have a gym area, along with places for various recreation activities, a weight room, a cardio area and, a student lounge.
While it will be for student use, Warden explains it will also be open to the community.
