‘Tis the season to give back and Dilico Anishinabek Family Care is looking for people to help them fill 1,000 Christmas Wish Bags for children. It’s the 11th year for this fundraiser that sees bags for children, babies and teens filled up with essentials and gifts for the holidays.
If you want to participate you can pick up one of Dilico’s red bags and fill them with toys, books, warm clothing and learning tools. Each bag is individualized for a child with a special tag attached that provides details such as their age, interests and Christmas wishes.
Carmela Hardy is Dilico’s Director of Childcare and tells us it really brings a smile to the kid’s face when they receive a gift on Christmas morning. She notes Thunder Bay is always so generous with their giving and is thankful for the continued support they receive.
The deadline to register for a Christmas Wish Bag is December 8th.
