Thunder Bay Liberal MP Patty Hajdu is standing up for Chrystia Freeland after the foreign affairs minister was trashed by U.S. President Trump when he said he didn’t like Canada’s chief negotiator at the trade talks.
Trump also said he doesn’t like the way Canada’s team is negotiating.
Labour minister is joining her cabinet colleagues in supporting the Canada’s negotiators at the trade talks in Washington DC.
Hajdu suggested to 99.9 The Bay’s John Ongaro, it’s just a part of the process, and that Freeland was right when she said months ago, that there will be moments of “high drama” in the talks.
She believes Trump “has a specific style of negotiation and communication, but it doesn’t necessarily reflect all of (his) administration.”
