The city and the province are at odds over who should be in charge of the hydro building at the Current River Dam.
City spokesperson Kayla Dixon explains the added responsibility for the facility is included as part of the city’s new permit to take water from Current River to create Boulevard Lake.
She says since the city doesn’t have control over the facility, it will be difficult for the city to promise it will meet the requirements of the permit.
Dixon tells us a hearing in front of Environmental Review Tribunal August the 8th will hopefully settle the issue and will result in a ruling favouring the city. (Staff photo)
